Meeting opened at 7:00pm

Old Business:

  • There will be a social smoke on Saturday, November 27th at Iwan Ries from
    12-5pm. We ask that if you’re coming you RSVP to either Tim or myself. Hope to
    see you all there.

New Business:

  • December 11th is our annual CPCC Christmas Party!! Come hang out at the shop any time- the party technically starts at 6pm but you’re welcome at any time! Please RSVP to Amu through email at amujtorress@gmail.com. Each member is allowed one guest. Please RSVP for this
  • We are looking for anyone who is willing to volunteer to help with our social
    media presence! Please reach out to me if you are good at social media and
    want to help us spread the word about all things Chicago Pipe Club!
  • January meeting is Saturday, January 15th!
  • Customer Appreciation at Arlington Pipe and Cigar Lounge is Friday, December
    17th- ALL DAY LONG! Come on by for deals on cigars, pipes, live music, food
    and a wonderful time!

August 21, 2021 Meeting Minutes

  • None

New Business:

  • We are sad to announce the club and pipe community has suffered two broken
    pipes. John Goldberg and Chuck Rio have passed and will be missed very dearly
    by all the CPCC.
  • We are currently working on a new website! Keep your eyes open for more
    information in coming emails and meetings!
  • We wanted to wish Bob Pecorini and his wife Mary good luck in their move to
    Florida! Thank you Pecorinis for all your love and support of the club throughout
    the years!
  • Negotiations for a new CPCC Pipe Show location are currently ongoing. The
    show board hopes to have more information at the next meeting.

March 20, 2021 Meeting Minutes

Chuck Martin and the CPCC Pipe Show Board members have made the sad announcement that due to the Illinois governor’s announcement this week regarding COVID-19 restrictions, the 2021 CPCC PIpe Show has been canceled. The state’s reopening strategy pushes the state’s opening standards well past August, so the show officers have made the decision to cancel before we get too close to the show dates. As we move forward, the show officers will begin immediately working on the 2022 show.
More information will be released next week on the show’s website.

June 13, 2020 Club Meeting Minutes

The meeting was held at Arlington Pipe and Cigar.Meeting Opened at 8.

We have not set a date yet for July. Please wait for an update once the date and location is confirmed.

There was no old business to discuss.

Announcement was made regarding elections for club officers. Allen Boyd will be stepping down as president. Tim Garrity has volunteered to run for club president. Paul Bender has volunteered to continue serving as club treasurer. We have two candidates for Vice President: Chris “Herm” Hartman & Ron Pecorini. Amu Torres has volunteered to serve as club secretary.

If any active member is interested in any of these officer positions, please send your name and a brief introduction to Tim Garrity. 

Elections will be held at our July meeting.

Show Update:The show officers will be meeting to continue planning for next year’s show.

James Connelly, from Stem and Briar will be hosting an informal pipe show and party in August at his home in Oak Creek Wisconsin.  If you are interested in attending, please contact Tim Garrity so he can coordinate carpooling and other logistics.

February 22, 2020 Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order at 8:05 pm at 8 to 8 Cigar in Villa Park, IL.

Birthday cigars were distributed.

Old business – the April 18th meeting will be held at Arlington Smoke Shop on Northwest Highway in Arlington Heights, IL. The March 21st and May 23rd meetings will be at 8 to 8.

New business –  Chuck Martin gave a tentative report on a new venue for the upcoming Chicago Show. The Club is currently negotiating with two possible venues, a Holiday Inn in Carol Stream and a Westin in Itasca [Westin Chicago Northwest decided!] . We hope to have a contract with one of the sites soon. Keep watching our club website, Chicagopipeshow.com for further details when available.

September 21, 2019 Meeting Minutes

All,

The meeting was held at 8 to 8 Cigar shop.

Birthdays were celebrated. 

Special note: If you plan on attending meetings you may want to let us know what month you were born on so we can buy you a cigar at that month’s meeting. To do this, just send us an email and we can update the members list.

We had three new members in attendance and one guest, Rich Billick(?).

The Richmond Pipe show is coming up the weekend of October 5th.

Our next social smoke will be at Arlington Pipe and Cigar in Arlington Heights IL. on October 12th. We will be starting at noon because the shop will be closing at 5. Also, Amu Torres will be joining the ranks of the married, hence the store closing early.

Currently working on a deal with Missouri Meerschaum to order CPCC Corn Cob Pipes. If you are interested please send me an email so I can add you to the list and get an amount to order. The pipes will be your standard billiard with CPCC stamped on the shank.

The meeting was held at 8 to 8 Cigar shop.

Birthdays will be celebrated next month as we are trying to get them listed so we can buy birthday cigars in advance.

New News: Next social smoke is Saturday, August 24th at A Cuban Experience in Waukegan, IL. (119 N Genesee St, Waukegan, IL 60085). We will be starting at 1 till????? We will be having a free raffle for a Dunhill Shell Briar. Come on up to meet with members of the Kenosha Pipe Club. Have a smoke and socialize.

One, Monica Schmidt, a long time friend of the club, was in for a visit.

May 18, 2019 Meeting Minutes

Birthdays were celebrated.Mike had B-56 cigars for our birthday boys.

Wounded Warriors was able to raise $1500 from this year’s show. 

Allan thanked all those who volunteered to help run the show.

A four year contract was signed with Pheasant Run.

There were many concerns voiced with the resort’s overall state of management and disrepair. Concerns were noted and will be voiced to the resort’s upper management.

New Business: Amendments need to be made to the by-laws regarding master and doctor of pipes.

Ron gave a brief about the Great Lakes Smoke Show, you can find them on Spotify, Anchor and other online podcast providers.

John noted that $20 for the blending seminar at this year’s pipe show has four spaces left over.

Pipe buffing services will be provided by Rick Ferrar from Briarville &  Jeremy Filiciano from Briar Nation to help support the Wounded Warriors Project. 

Show Report: Chuck gave a show update and noted that we need more volunteers for the show. We have four tables left. We need greeters and volunteers to help register for tables next year. We still have room for the Saturday night dinner.
